Configuration, Security and Administration

This section of the documentation library informs you, as an administrator of Webrino, how to configure the system variables; manage users; grant them permissions to specific functionality of the software and details about other general administration of the software.

Configuration Variables

Webrino maintains a list of configuration variables that are used by the system in the background. In most cases, these variables need to be configured once when you begin using Webrino and can be left untouched afterwards. Variables are either mandatory or optional. For example, the name of the business, city and country of operation are all mandatory variables, however the number of items to be displayed in views is optional and defaults to 20.

Branches and Containers

All branches and containers (required by the Inventory module) must be set up before your users can start using Webrino. The Webrino Setup Wizard which runs automatically on brand new installations of Webrino allows the administrator to complete these common tasks right in the beginning.

Users, Access and Security

Since Webrino is a multi-user system, particular care must be given to ensure that users have access only to the information that's pertinent to their role. For example, sales users should not have access to the purchase department business objects such as purchase orders. All Webrino modules expose a set of permissions that can be granted to users who belong to one or more Roles. Webrino also ships with a default set of Roles that can be used out-of-the-box. More Roles can be added by an administrator if required.
